An extruded product based on urea, maize starch and sulphur, intended for use as a source of non-protein nitrogen. It is used in diets for cattle with a developed rumen. The sulphur in the product is required for the synthesis of the sulphur-containing amino acids methionine and cysteine. Sulphur deficiency may limit the utilisation of non-protein nitrogen. The total sulphur intake from feed and water is taken into account.
